Vintage glassware is fun to collect - so much so that it can become a problem real quick (yes, I'm talking to myself here). Sometimes, I get a little protective over my actual vintage pieces, though, and end up keeping them locked away in a cupboard as opposed to, you know, using them as intended. 🌙 I've learned a thing or two after years of adopting cats and want to share tips & tricks for keeping cats happy, not slappy 🫠✨️

🌙 A few tips when adjusting to a new kitten: 🌙

✨️ Set them up with toys, a bed, litter box, food, and water in a small area of your home where they can initially adjust to you, your people, and your home. We started Luna in our bathroom and have expanded her into our bedroom.

✨️ Use toys and blankets to help share scents to other cats and pets in your home in shared spaces. Swap toys from one cat to another so that scent become familiar in a non-threatening way.

✨️ Slowly introducing your new cat to your home will help them become confident and will help you avoid undesirable, stress-induced behaviors.

🌙While these words are centered on the cruelties enacted against immigrant children in the Untied States, I do believe it also applies to the barbaric treatment of children by some of the most powerful people on the planet.

It’s a funny sort of thing, really. They’ve spread fear for years on the danger of the “others” — from *illegal* immigrants to trans folks, public school teachers to journalists, anti-fascists groups to Black Lives Matter and drag queens….all the while, their terrible secrets fester beneath the surface. They (rich, mostly white men in power) insist that the enemy is anyone that would question, investigate, or challenge their blatant lies. And the victims? Shamed, ridiculed, threatened, killed, damaged. For anyone who has ever questioned why victims of sexual abuse do not come forward…it’s this, right fucking here.

How desperate are we to believe a lie? How much damage must occur before we hold people in power accountable for atrocities too wicked to whisper aloud? 🌙
